IS GOD AN ANTI-SEMITE? NEW TESTAMENT EVIDENCE

IS GOD ANTISEMITE? (2): NEW TESTAMENT EVIDENCE by Rev Simon Weismann

WHO ARE THE JUDAISERS? The ‘Judaisers’ appears in the Christian Testament. Also ‘the party of the circumcision’ (Acts 10.45 & 11.2; Gal. 2.12; Col. 4.11; Titus 1.10). The Christian Church began as splinter-group among followers of the Old Testament G-d, YHWH (‘I Am Who Am’ Ex.3.14). The Old Testament’s people, The Chosen, routinely disobeyed YHWH but tried to use their ’special relationship’ with Him to excuse their repeated failures. 1,000 years of this lead YHWH to abandon them, replacing them with a new elect, the Church. Drawn from an enlightened Remnant of the Old it included the ‘enlightened’ of all peoples. Through the Church YHWH was transformed from being simply the tribal deity of one nation to a universal GOD, open to all.

THE CHURCH: was initiated by His Son made flesh, the G-D-man Jesus Christ. Incensed they’d been rejected by YHWH the Old sect immediately began persecuting the New, first killing their leader JC (Acts 3.15), then having one of His Inner Circle, James Bar-Zebedee executed (Acts 12.2-3). They twice goaled JC’s lieutenant Cephas-Peter even torturing him (Acts 4.3, 5.18 & 7.40). An enforcer from the Old sect turned defector, Saul-Paul of Tarsus, took Peter’s place as Church leader (Acts 9.15). The Old sect attempted to murder him on three occasions (Acts 9.23, 9.29, 20.3, 21.31 & 23.12-15) finally succeeding in 64 AD. This was too much for YHWH.

END OF THE OLD? YHWH allowed the Chosen’s arrogance to overflow. In 69 AD they revolted against their Roman overlords, slaughtering all they could find. Rome’s reprisals were in fact YHWH’s, just as in the past (Ezek.7v9-11). The long-sought Jewish ‘war of liberation’ was a massacre. 90% of Jews died, the rest were enslaved but not annihilated. They soon bred. By 135 AD there were sufficient to revolt again, under Bar-Kokbar. Fed up, Rome extinguished all trace of the Old from the ’Promised Land’ & banned them from returning.

DIASPORA: This ‘exile’ had the consequence of scattering the Old throughout the Roman Empire where they found the New rapidly expanding. The Old’s hatred of the New sought revenge on those they saw as usurping their exclusive access to YHWH. The New regarded the Old as intransigent. This mutual antagonism shaped European history (313-1517AD).

THE CHURCH AGE: Began in 313 AD when Roman Emperor, a Christian, declared the New religion to be the ‘official religion’ of Rome & lasted till the 1400’s when the neo-pagan Renaissance ignited a rebirth of interest in pre-Christian religion. This culminated in the 17th century’s Darkening (called the ‘Enlightenment’ by godless atheists). An intellectual elite supplanted worship of God with worship of Man as god: Humanism. The first-fruits of humanist thinking was America’s 1776 Revolt which was heavily aided & abetted by a French secular elite. After victory in 1783 French warriors returning home from America initiated France’s own humanist revolt, the 1789 Revolution. The US & French revolutions together shaped all history since yet both denigrated God while elevating Man.

OLD AGAINST OPPOSE NEW: Some see anti-Christ attitudes in the media - film, print or TV - as a recent phenomena. They assume the Old sect’s hatred of Christ only began as a response to Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ or with Daniel Braunstein’s Da Vinci Code. No, it began in 30AD with Jesus’ first public statements. He later attacked the Old sect as betraying their own beliefs (‘white-washed tombs full of dead men’s bones’ Matt. 23.27). So they murdered him (Matt. 12.14) and many of the Apostles including His half-brothers, James & Jude. The attacks continued for 20 centuries, overt & covert. A recent example is the last 15 years smears about ’paedophile priests’.

FIRST CENTURY CHURCH versus MODERN CHURCH: Jesus’ followers for 19 centuries were implacably opposed to the rabbi’s religion. This is no longer true of today’s Church, a spineless organ now often of more use to Christ’s Enemies than His servants. This all occurred in 1942 with the invention of a new word: Judo-Christian. It was created by Allied propaganda departments to evoke sympathy for the alleged sufferings of many in European labour camps 1933-45. The idea there could be any empathy between these millennia-old foes was laughable in 1942. Today it is taken as the norm. Modern preachers often call for a return to the ‘First Century Church’ implying simplicity and purity. They deliberately ignore the undeniable antipathy shown by Christ & His inner circle towards the Old sect. They fail to investigate the simple reason why YHWH was forced to begin again by founding the Church: the utter refusal of the Old to obey their own God.

PROOF-TEXTS: The following quotes from KJV & GNB illustrate this 2,000 year long animosity between YHWH’s New & Old worshippers.

Matthew 3.7ff: “John the Baptist saw many Pharisees & Sadducees coming for baptism & rebuked them saying: ‘Snakes! Who warned you to flee the judgment GOD sends for you? 7 Don’t think you’ll escape it saying ‘Abraham’s our forebear!’ GOD can make ‘children of Abraham’ from these stones. 9 GOD’s judgement axe is already set against the trunk [Israel]. He’ll uproot it completely. Why not? They bear no good fruit. It’s the fire for them’ ”. 10

Matthew 4.13-16: “Jesus went to live in Capernaum…13 to fulfill the prophecy…14 ‘the people who sat in darkness, in the shadow of death, a light has dawned for them.’ ” 16.

Matthew 4.24: “News about Him spread throughout the Syrian Hills. They brought Him their sick, diseased & disordered. Jesus healed them all”.

Matthew 8.11-12: “Jesus said: ‘Believers in Yah will come from nations of the East & West. They’ll sit down as equals with Israel’s elders when the kingdom of heaven comes. 11 But Israel’s sons will be cast out into outer darkness where they’ll weep & wail’ ”.12

Matthew 9.13b: “Jesus [to Pharisees]: ‘I desire mercy not sacrifice. I came for sinners not rule-keepers’ ”.                            [Jews not called; but non-Jews are].

Matthew 9.16-17: “Jesus said: ‘no one puts a new piece of cloth on an old garment. The patch will pull away & make the tear worse. 16 No one puts new wine in old wineskins. The skins will swell & burst & the wine spill. New wine needs new wineskins’ ”. 17                        [Jews couldn’t adapt; Church left Jewry. Separated, they avoid destroying each other.]

Matthew 12.13-19: “When Jesus healed a man’s crippled hand 13 the Jews plotted to destroy Him. 14 Jesus fled. The crowd followed. 15 He gave them 16 the prophecy of Isaiah: 17 “My Servant, My Beloved, will declare justice to the Gentiles [non-Jews]. 18 In His name they will trust’ ”. 19 [GOD’s promise of salvation reverts to non-Jews as Jews exhaust all their chances].

Matthew 21. 23: “Jesus taught in the Temple. The Jews’ chief priests confronted Him. 23 He said: ‘hear this parable. A landowner planted a vineyard, built a fence, a winepress & a tower. He leased it to vinedressers 33 then left. At harvest He sent servants to collect the rent. 34 Instead of paying the vinedressers attacked them. They killed one, beat another & stoned the third. 35 He sent others. They did the same to them. 36 Finally, he sent His son saying: ‘surely they’ll respect My heir.’ 37 The vinedressers saw the Son & said: ‘if we kill Him we can seize His inheritance’. 38 So they did. 39 The owner will destroy these wicked & lease His vineyard to Others who’ll pay Him”. [In Old Testament terminology Israel = vine & Jews = vinedressers. Others = Gentile Church].

Matthew 21.42-46: “Jesus: ‘the stone rejected by builders [Israel] will become the cornerstone [of a Gentile Church]. This is GOD’s work. 42 He’ll take the kingdom [of heaven] from you & give it to nations that bear fruit. 43 Whoever the rejected stone falls on will be ground to dust; whoever attacks it will be destroyed”. 44 The temple officials realized He spoke this against them 45 & wanted to arrest Him but feared His popularity with the mob”. 46
[Jesus foresaw Israel’s rejection of Him would trigger their destruction. Gentile ‘nations’ would embrace Him, replacing the Chosen as the Church. Why else arrest Jesus? For cursing Israel].

Matthew 22.1-15, 18 & 29: “Jesus spoke a parable [to Temple officials]: ‘a King arranged the marriage of His Son. 2 Those invited wouldn’t come. 3 He sent servants to summon them 4 but the invitees treated them shamefully, beating & killing them. 6 Furious, the king sent His army. They destroyed those murderers & burnt their city. 7 He said: ‘those invited weren’t worthy. 8 Go to every road junction inviting any you meet’. 9 So they did’. 10. [Knowing Jesus spoke against them] the Jewish legalists plotted to trap Him. 15 Perceiving this He said: ‘You test Me, you hypocrites? 18 You know neither GOD’s power nor His Scriptures.’ ” 29.

Matthew 23.13-39: “Jesus said: ‘woe to you scribes & Pharisees [lawyers & legalists]! You shut the door to Heaven for men, neither entering nor allowing others to enter. 13 Woe…14 Woe…15 Woe…16 You blind fools…17 Blind fools! 19 Woe to you, hypocrites! 23 You blind guides…24 Woe to you, hypocrites! 25 You Pharisees are blind! 26 Woe to you, hypocrites! 27 You’re full of hypocrisy you’re lawless. 28 Woe to you scribes & Pharisees, hypocrites 29 You know yourselves to be sons of murderers. 31 You serpents & brood of vipers! Can you ever escape Hell’s fire? 33 I sent you prophets. Some you beat, some you tortured in your synagogues. Others you killed. 34 On you will rain all the blood of the righteous you’ve murdered. 35 Jerusalem, you kill [My] prophets! You reject My care. 37 Your Temple will be abandoned. 38 I won’t appear to Israel again till they accept Me as GOD’s Chosen One’ ”. 39

Matthew 24.1-2: “As Jesus left the [Jewish] Temple His disciples boasted of its grandeur. 1 He replied: ‘Look at it while you can. I promise not one stone will be left on another [when Judgment comes]’ ”. 2 [Jesus prophesied Rome’s legions would level the area in AD 70].

Mark 7.1-9 & 13: “Jewish teachers gathered round Jesus 1 to argue. 5 He said: ‘hypocrites! You honour GOD with your mouth but your heart is far from Him. 6 Your worship is useless. You teach man’s laws not GOD’s. 7 You’re clever. You reject GOD’s Law but promote your own empty teachings. 9 Your Talmud cancels out Yah’s Word.’ ” 13

Mark 8.11-12: “Jewish legalists argued with Jesus to entrap Him 11 but He rebuked them”. 12

Mark 11.17-18: “In the Temple Jesus taught the common people Yah’s Words: ‘My Temple is open to all nations’ but the Jews turn it into a den of thieves’. 17 The Jewish lawyers heard this & feared losing their commission on Temple sales. After this they plotted to kill Jesus”. 18

Mark 12.1-12: “Jesus’ parable foretold how ungrateful Jews resisted GOD, even killing His prophets & His own Son. 1-8 Jesus asked: ‘What should the vineyard’s [metaphorical Israel] owner [Yah] do to these ingrates? He’ll kill them & give His vineyard to [Gentiles]. 9 The stone the Jews reject as worthless is the most important’. 10 Hearing this, the Jews plotted to kill Him, just as He’d predicted. Only fear of the mob prevented them”. 12

Mark 12.13 & 15: “Jewish legalists came seeking to entrap Jesus with questions of Law. 13 He saw through their tricks”. 15

Mark 12.18-23, 24 & 27: “Sadducees [a sect of Jewish lawyers] asked Jesus tricky questions. 18-23 He replied: ‘You know neither Scripture nor GOD. 24 How wrong you are!’ ” 27

Mark 14.43, 48-49: “An armed group sent by the Jewish chief priests & the Jewish lawyers arrived to arrest Jesus [in the garden]. He asked: ‘does it take armed men to arrest Me? 48 I argued with you daily in the Temple. Why didn’t you arrest Me there?” 49

Luke 3.7-9: “The masses came out to see John the Baptist who asked: ‘ye snakes! Who warned you to flee Yah’s coming judgment? Don’t you [Jews] claim Abraham as ancestor? Yah can make descendants of Abraham from these stones! The axe is ready to cut down any tree at the roots that does not bear good fruit. It’ll be thrown into the flames.’ ” 7-9

Luke 3.15-17: “The mob asked John the Baptist: ‘are you Messiah?’ 15 ‘No’ he said. ‘There’s one coming whose sandals I’m unfit to undo. I baptist with water; He baptizes with fire & Spirit.16. He carries a shovel to thresh grain, gather wheat & burn chaff in unceasing fire.’ ” 17

Luke 5.32: “Jesus said: ‘I come only to call outcasts to repentance, not the respectable’ “.

Luke 5.36: “Jesus told the Jews a parable. ‘No one patches an old coat [Israel] with new cloth [a Gentile Church]. New cannot fit into old. 36 Nor does anyone pour new wine [Gentiles] into old wineskins [Israel]. New wine bursts old skins. The wine will be lost & the skins ruined. 37 New wine requires new wineskins’ ”. 38 [Gentile Church replaces synagogue & Temple].

Luke 6.6-11: “On Sabbath, Jesus taught in a synagogue & 6 healed a man there. This upset the local Jewish legalists. 7-10 Filled with rage, they openly began to discuss murdering Him.” 11

Luke 6.20-23 & 26: “Jesus looked at His disciples. 20 He said: ‘the Jews will hate you & will reject you, insult you & say you’re evil because of Me! 22 Be happy. Their forefathers did the same to GOD’s prophets. 23 It will be terrible for [the Jews]’ ”. 26

Luke 7.1-9: “Jesus traveled to Capernaum 1. A Roman centurion had a sick servant. 2 Jewish elders asked Jesus to heal him 3 saying: ‘this goy built us a synagogue!’ 4-5 Jesus went to heal the man but the Roman refused to meet Him saying: ‘you’re man of power who heals without having to see the sick. 6 As a goy I’m too unclean to meet You’. 7 Jesus was surprised by his faith saying: ‘I’ve found no faith like this anywhere in Israel!’ 9 The servant was healed”. 10

Luke 7.28-30 & 34: “Jesus said: ‘John the Baptist is the greatest man who ever lived’. 28 The common people & Roman collaborators had been John’s followers. It was these he’d baptized. 29 But the Jewish legalists rejected John & GOD’s offer of kindness via him. 30 Jesus said of the Jews: ‘they called John ‘demoniac’. Me they call ‘friend of outcasts & sinners’ ”. 34

PARABLES AGAINST UNBELIEVING ISRAEL:
Luke 12.47-53: “[Jesus explains to His disciples]: ‘a servant who knows what His Master wants & does not do it [the Jews] shall be punished with a heavy whipping. 47 A servant who does not know what His Master wants [the Gentile Church] will receive a light whipping. 48 I came to set the earth on fire & how I wish it was already alight! 49 You thought I came to bring peace on earth? No, not peace but division: 51 father from son & parent from child’ ”. 53-54

Luke 13.10-30: “On Sabbath, Jesus taught in a synagogue. 1 He healed a woman possessed of a demon. 11-13 A Jew official grew angry at Jesus healing on the Sabbath. 14 Jesus rebuked him: ‘you hypocrite! You water your donkey on the Sabbath 15 but won’t help a child of Abraham bound 18 years by Satan!’ 16 He shamed His enemies & made them angry”. 17

Luke 13.31-35: “Jewish legalists came to Jesus to warn: ‘Herod wants to kill You’. 31 He replied: ‘Oh Jerusalem, why do you kill GOD’s prophets? How GOD wishes you’d return to Him but you refuse. 34 So I promise you: your beloved Temple will be abandoned’ ”. 35

Luke 14.16-24: “Jesus spoke a parable: ‘a man held a great feast & invited many people 16 but when His servant went to invite them 17 each made excuses. 18 When the Master heard this He was furious. He said: ‘go to the alleys & highways. Bring back the poor, crippled, blind & lame. Fill My house with these. 21 I promise none of those invited will ever taste My food!’ 24

Luke 16.14-31: “Jew legalists sneered at Jesus. They loved money 14 so He spoke a parable: ‘there was a rich man 19 & Lazarus, a poor beggar. 20 Both died. Lazarus went to heaven. 22 The rich man went to Hades. 23 He saw Lazarus with Abraham. He said: ‘Send Lazarus with water for me’. 24 Abraham said: ‘no’. 25-26 The rich man: ‘send Lazarus to my brothers to warn them’. 27-28 Abraham: ‘they have the Law & prophets’. 29 The rich man: ‘if one rose from the dead they might listen’. 30 Abraham: ‘They won’t listen to the Law or prophets then they’ll ignore one raised from the dead’ ”. 31 [foreshadows Jews ignoring the Risen Christ].

Luke 19.11-27: “Jesus was near Jerusalem. The mob wanted to crown Him King. 11 So Jesus told them a parable. He said: ‘there was man about to be made king. 12 Just before it he left his country. His subjects, who hated Him, sent a messenger after Him saying: ‘we don’t want you as king’. 14 The man was made king & then returned. 15 He said: ‘where are those enemies who didn’t want Me as king? Drag them here & kill them in My presence!’ ” 27

Luke 19.41-44: “Approaching Jerusalem Jesus wept 41 saying: ‘if only you [Jews] knew the peace I could give you but you remain willfully blind. 42 I foresee the day when an enemy army besieges & destroys the city & all in it. 43 Just because you refused to accept Me!’ ” 44

Luke 20.1, 9-20: “One day Jesus went to the Temple to teach but was confronted by the chief priests & the legalists. 1 He told a parable: ‘a man planted a vineyard then rented it. 9 When the time came for the rent to be paid He sent a servant to collect. The tenants beat him. 10 He sent another. Then another. They beat them all. 11-12 He sent His Son. 13 The tenants said: ‘let’s kill the heir, then we inherit the vineyard’. 14 So they did. 15 What will the owner do but come Himself, 16 kill those worthless villains & hand over His vineyard to Others’. [The Jews] shrieked: ‘It must never be!’ Jesus looked them in the eye & said: ‘it is as prophesied: ‘the Stone the builders rejected will become the most important. 17 Everyone this Stone falls on will be crushed; anyone who trips over it will be cut to pieces’ ”. 18

Luke 22.52-66 & 23.1-5: “The chief priests, the Temple guards & the Jewish elders came to get Jesus. 52 They arrested Him & took Him, a prisoner, to the High Priest’s Palace. 54 The guards beat & mocked Him & 63 insulted Him. 65 The elders & the chief priests 66 took Jesus to the Roman governor. 1 They claimed: ‘this man starts a riot all through Judea’ ”. 5

Luke 23.35: “[Crucifying Jesus] Jews said: ‘if you’re Christ then come down from the cross!’ ”

Luke 24.19-20: “Jesus was a prophet considered by GOD & all people to be powerful in everything He said & did. 19 Our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death, to be crucified. 20 We’d hoped He’d set Israel free from such people as them!” 21

John 5.8-18: “When Jesus healed a man 8-9 on the Sabbath the Jewish legalists rebuked the healed man. 10 The man told them it was Jesus who’d healed him 15 so they persecuted Jesus for healing on a Sabbath. 16 Jesus rebuked them. 17 This made them more determined to kill Him, saying: ‘He makes Himself equal to GOD’. 18 Jesus: 19 “Father judges no one 21 but gave to Son full rights to judge. 22 All must honour Son just as they do Father. Whoever refuses honour to Son dishonours Father. 23 The righteous dead hear the Son’s voice & return to life. 25 Father is source of life & made Son source of life. 26 I judge only as Father says.” 30

John 5.39-47: “Jesus [to Jewish legalists]: ‘You study Scripture hoping to find in them eternal life. The same Scriptures speak of Me! Don’t think I’ll accuse you to My Father. It’s Moses, in whom you trust, who’ll accuse you. 39 I know your hearts; you have no love of GOD. 42 I come in the name of My Father but you refuse Me. 43 You can’t believe Me. 44 I won’t accuse you to Father as Moses does this. 45 You say 'we follow Moses writings'. He wrote of Me. Believe that! 46 But you don’t believe him. So how can you ever believe in Me?’” 47

John 7.1-30: “Jesus traveled to Galilee. He avoided Judea because the Jewish authorities there wanted to kill Him. 1 Jesus’ brothers said to Him: ‘come to the Festival in Judea with us’. 3 He said: ‘No. The world hates Me but it doesn’t hate you. That’s because I tell it that its ways are evil’. 7 When His brothers departed Jesus followed them to the Festival, secretly. 10 There the Jewish authorities were indeed hunting Him. 11 The crowd there sought Him amidst much whispering. 12 No one spoke openly as the Jewish authorities had them all terrorized. 13 Only when the Festival was half over did Jesus finally appear in the Temple, 14 to the surprise of the Jewish authorities. 15 Jesus spoke to the eager crowd: ‘Moses gave you the Law but none obey it. Is that why you want to kill Me?’ 19 The mob replied: ‘no one wants to kill you!’ 20 Some said: ‘is this the man the authorities want to kill? 25 He speaks openly; they do nothing. Maybe He’s the Messiah!’ 26 [The authorities] wanted to seize Him but could not”. 30

John 8.31-37: “Jesus said to those who believed in Him: ‘obey Me & be free’. 31-32 They said: ‘We’re descendants of Abraham; we’ve never been slaves’. 33 He replied: ‘You’re of Abraham but you want to kill Me. 37 & 42 You can’t understand Me. You can’t bear My message, 43 you children of Satan. 44 That’s why you don’t believe Me. 45 I’m honoured by My Father, the very one you says is GOD. 54 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see Me. He saw Me & was glad’. 56 This made the mob pick up stones to kill Him with but He escaped”. 59

John 9.1-22: “When Jesus healed a blind man on the Sabbath 1-6 the man’s neighbours took him to the Jew legalists 13-14 who said: ‘whoever healed you can’t be of GOD as He did this on a Sabbath’. 16 They doubted the man had ever been blind. 18 They called his parents 19 but they refused to speak 20-21 as they feared exclusion. The legalists had threatened to excommunicate any who called Jesus Saviour. 22 The blind man: ‘Jesus is Messiah. How else can He heal?’ 23-33 They cast him out. 34 Jesus came to see the man. 35 He said: ‘when I judge this world the blind will see. Those who say they see will be made blind’. 38 Jewish legalists who heard this felt insulted. 40 Jesus challenged them: ‘admit you’re blind & I’ll help you to see. Claim you can see & you’ll stay blind’ ”. 41

John 10.23-39: “In the Temple 23 a crowd approached Jesus to ask: ‘are you GOD’s Messiah?’ 24 He: ‘I’ve told you but you won’t believe. You can’t believe Me as you’re not called to My Kingdom’. 26 Hearing that the mob picked up stone to kill Him. 31 He: ‘why kill Me?’ 32 They: ‘for blasphemy! You make yourself to be GOD!’ 33 Jesus: ‘Then don’t believe Me 37 but accept I come from GOD’. 38 With that they again sought to stone Him”. 39

John 11.3-8: “When Jesus heard His friend Lazarus was ill 3 He said: ‘let’s go to Judea’. 7 His disciples replied: ‘but the Jews sought to stone You!’ ”. 8

John 11.45, 47, 53-54 & 57: “Some who saw Jesus [raise Lazarus from death] 45 ran to tell the Jew legalists. 46 These & their chief priests met to plan joint action against Him. 47 The High Priest that year said: ‘better this man be killed than Israel be destroyed’. 50 This prophesied the Jews would kill Jesus 51 & that the righteous of all nations would be ingathered into the Church. 52 From then on Jew officials sought to kill Jesus. He couldn’t travel openly in Judea so fled to the desert. 54 When Passover began 55 the chief priests gave orders: ‘if Jesus appears he’s to be arrested’ ”. 57

John 12.36-43: “Jesus hid Himself 36. Despite His many miracles [the Jews] wouldn’t believe Him 37 fulfilling the prophecy: ‘they won’t believe because GOD blinded their eyes & closed their minds. They don’t turn from evil & I don’t heal them’ ”. 40

John 15.18-24: “Jesus told His disciples: ‘the [Jews] will hate you but first hated Me. 18 They persecute you if you obey Me. They don’t obey Father GOD. 21 They’ve no excuse for sin. 22 They hate Me because they hate Father GOD, too. They hate both Me & Father GOD’ ”. 24

John 16.2-3, 10-11: “You’ll be excluded from synagogue. [Jews] will kill you thinking they do GOD’s will. 2 They’ll do it out of ignorance. They don’t know Me or GOD My Father. 3 They’re wrong about what's right & wrong. 10 They’re misinformed about the Judgment’ ”. 11

John 18.3-31: “A combined force of Temple guards, chief priests & Jewish legalists came to arrest Jesus. 3 They bound Him & took Him to the High Priests’ palace. 13 This same High Priest had said: ‘better one man die than the nation’. 14 While being interrogated one of the Jewish guards punched Jesus in the face. 22 He rebuked him. 23 Just before dawn, the Jewish authorities sent Jesus to the Roman governor’s palace. [They did this so no one would see it was they who’d apprehended Him. RE]. 28 The Roman governor asked: ‘with what is this man charged?’ 29 ‘Nothing’, they said. 30 ‘We want Him dead [but you to get the blame. RE]’ ”. 31

John 19.6-38: “Pilate: ‘I find no reason to arrest this man’. 6 After urging from Jew leaders the mob cried: ‘release Jesus & we’ll report you to your Emperor as a rebel [i.e. a death sentence]’. 12 Hearing this Pilate 13 handed Jesus over to be killed. 16 They crucified Him”. 18

John 20.19: “the disciples met behind locked doors out of fear of the Jewish authorities”.

Acts 3.3-17: “[Jesus’ chief apostle] Peter healed a man in the Temple. A crowd gathered. 3-11 Peter asked the crowd: ‘why stare? Do you think we did this by our own power? 12 It was by the power of Jesus whom you allowed the Jewish authorities to arrest. You’re the ones who rejected Him in front of Pilate, Pilate who’d decided to set Him free. 13 You knew He was holy but you still rejected Him. 14 You killed the One who would have opened eternal life to you but GOD Himself raised Him from the dead. We witnessed all this. 15 It was faith in the Name of Jesus that healed this man. 16 I know what all of you did to Jesus.” 17

Acts 4.1-19: “As Peter & John spoke the priests arrived with the Temple guards. 1 These were annoyed they spoke of Jesus. 2 They arrested them after 5,000 in the Temple became Christians. 3 The next morning the High Priest & Jewish elders ordered the apostles to present themselves to explain their actions. 5-7 Peter said: ‘I heal by the power of the Jesus you crucified. 10 Salvation is now through Jesus alone’. 12 The Council were amazed at Peter 13 & said, to themselves: ‘all the Temple saw this miracle; we can’t deny it’. 16 Summoning the two they ordered: ‘never to speak of Jesus again’. 18 Peter replied: ‘we obey GOD not men!’ ” 19

Acts 4.23-26: “When they were freed Peter & John sought out the Church & told them what was said. 23-24 Together they prayed to GOD saying: ‘these Gentiles are furious & make useless plots. These kings & rulers are gathering against our GOD & His Saviour”. 26 [First time the Church sees the Jews are no longer GOD’s elect but are His foes – Gentiles. SW].

Acts 5.12-42: “Many miracles were being performed by the apostles in the Temple. 12 The High Priest became extremely jealous of them. 17 They had all the apostles arrested. 18 But that night an angel came to the prison & opened the doors. He led them all out & said to them: 19 ‘go to the Temple & tell everyone about Jesus’ 20 so they did. At dawn they began teaching. The High Priest gave orders for the apostles to be delivered from the prison. 21 The prison officials were forced to admit the apostles were gone. 22-23 While all wondered 24 a man arrived saying: ‘those men you arrested are now teaching in the Temple!’ 25 The Temple guards re-arrested them but used no force this time as they feared the mob would stone them. 26 High Priest: ‘we ordered you not to speak of Jesus, but you do! You want to blame us for His death!’ 28 Peter & all the apostles replied: ‘you did kill Him 30 but GOD raised Him to give Israel a chance to repent’. 31 Hearing this, the whole Council became furious. They wanted all the apostles put to death there & then. 33 But one, the Pharisee Gamaliel, ordered the apostles taken out. 34 He said:’ remember Theudas who led 400 men? We had him killed & his followers scattered. 36 Then came Judas the Galilean. We had him killed & his followers scattered. 37 This time I recommend no action’. 38. Council agreed but had all the apostles beaten, then set them free. 40 Every day thereafter in the Temple they continued to teach”. 41

Acts 6.8-12 & 7.1-58: “Stephen performed many miracles but was opposed by the synagogue. 8 They argued with Stephen 9 but GOD gave him such wisdom they couldn’t refute him. 10 So they seized Stephen & took him to the Council 12 where the High Priest questioned him. 7.1 Stephen: ‘how heathen are your hearts, how deaf you are to GOD’s message! You resist GOD’s Spirit. 51 Which prophet of GOD didn’t your ancestors kill? They announced the coming of His Servant whom you betrayed & murdered. 52 You people received GOD’s Law from angels. You don’t obey it!” 53 Hearing this, Council became furious. Grinding their teeth, 54 with a shriek they all rushed him, threw him from the city & stoned him to death”. 58

Acts 9.22-25: “Saul’s preaching Jesus was the promised Messiah was so effective that the Damascene Jews couldn’t refute it. 22 Instead they planned his murder. 23 They watched the city gates 24/7 in order to kill him. 24 The Church lowered him over the city walls”. 25

Acts 10.1-4, 28-35 & 39b: “In Caesarea the Roman Legion’s Captain Cornelius 1 was religious. He worshipped GOD, helped poor Jews & prayed constantly. 2 At 3pm one day he’d a vision of 3 an angel who said: ‘GOD’s pleased by your prayers & charity. He’s answered you. Send for Simon-Peter’. 4 [Arriving] Peter said: ‘GOD shows me no nation is superior to another. 28 GOD shows no partiality [for Jews]. 34 In every nation some worships Him & do right. These belong to GOD. 35 We witnessed all [Jesus] did in Israel & that [the Jews] killed Him’ ”. 39

Acts 12.1-11: “King Herod persecuted the Church. 1 Had the apostle James put to death by the sword. Seeing this pleased the Jews he arrested Peter. 3 He planned a trial after Passover. 4 The night before an angel came to Peter & 6-7 led him past two guard posts & through an iron gate, then vanished. 10 Peter said: ‘GOD’s angel rescued me from all the Jews expected”. 11

Acts 13.10-12: “In Cyprus Paul met a certain magician named Bar Jesus, a Jew who claimed to be a prophet. 6 He was an adviser to the island’s governor, Sergius Paulus. When the governor called Paul to speak about the gospel of Jesus 7 they were opposed by the magician who tried to turn him against the Church. 8 Paul became possessed of the Spirit of GOD. He looked the magician in the eye & said: ‘you devil! The enemy of everything good. You’re full of evil tricks & always turn GOD’s truth into lies. 10 GOD’s hand be upon you now. You shall be blind for a while’. At once he was blinded. 11 The governor was amazed & instantly believed [Paul]”. 12

Acts 13.13-51: “Paul traveled to Antioch. On the Sabbath he entered the synagogue 13-14 & began to speak. 16 Paul proclaimed Jesus as Messiah from the Jews’ own Scripture. 17-41 As he left people invited him to return the following Sabbath. 42 Many who followed Paul were Jews & some Gentile converts to Judaism. 43 The next Sabbath all Antioch came to hear Paul speak. 44 Seeing this the Jews became jealous & abused Paul. 45 He: ‘it was required of us to speak GOD’s word to you Jews first. But now that you have rejected it & apparently don’t consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we will leave. From now on we speak only to the Gentiles here 45 for this is a commandment of GOD to me: ‘I’ve made you a light to the Gentiles so that the whole world may be saved’ ’. 47 The Gentiles were glad when they heard this 48 but the Jews stirred up the leading men of the city & the high ranking Gentiles women. 50 These started to persecute Paul & expelled him from the entire region”. 51

Acts 14.22b: “Same thing occurred in Iconium. As Paul spoke at synagogue a great number of Jews & Gentiles believed. 1 So unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles & turned them against the apostles. 2 The city divided between those for the Jews & those for the Church. 4 Jewish leaders decided to stone the apostles 5 so they fled to Lystra. 6 In Lystra Paul healed a man. 8-10 The Gentile mob were amazed 11-81 but Jews who had pursued them from Iconium persuaded the mob to stone the Paul. They did. After they’d left him for dead 19 the believers gathered round his body & prayed. Paul leapt to his feet & entered Lystra”.

Acts 20.18-21: “Paul said: ‘with many tears I did my work during the hard times that came to me due to the many plots of the Jews. 19 You know I preached…20 to the Jews they should turn back from their sins to GOD & believe only in our Lord Jesus’ ”. 21

Acts 28.17-28: “After three days Paul summoned the local Jewish leaders. 17 From morning till night he explained the gospel to them & tried to convince them about Jesus by quoting the Law of Moses & the Prophets. 23 Some were convinced, others were not. 24 As they left Paul quoted a prophet: 27 ‘this people’s minds are dull & they’ve closed their eyes’. You know that GOD’s message has been given to the Gentiles as they at least will listen!”

Romans 9.6b: [Paul wrote]: “I can’t say GOD’s promises have but not all Israel are GOD’s people. 6 Nor are all Abraham’s descendants GOD’s children. 7Children born in the usual way are not GOD’s children. Only those born of GOD’s promise are actually His children. 8 Yah told Moses: ‘I’ve mercy for whomever I will & pity them’. 15 Everything depends on His mercy. 16 He to reveal His power He showed patient to [Jews]. 22 GOD poured His glory out on us. 23 He called out those saved, not only from amongst Jewry but from amongst Gentiles. 24 GOD foretold Hosea: ‘A people not mine will be called ‘My People’. A nation I hadn’t loved I’ll call ‘My Beloved’. 25 He said: ‘you weren’t My people but now are called ‘sons of GOD’. 26 But of Israel it was predicted ‘only a few of them will be saved’ ”. 27

Romans 9.30-33: “Gentiles, who weren’t even trying to put themselves right with GOD, were put right by Him through faith. 30 GOD’s people, seeking a Law by which they might be made right with GOD, didn’t find one. 31 That’s because they relied on works, not faith. So they stumbled over the ‘stumbling block’. 32 Scripture says: ‘I placed in Zion a stone to make them stumble, a rock to offend them. Only those who believe on Him won’t be ashamed’ ”. 33

Romans 10.1-3: “My heart’s desire is to see Israel saved. 1 They have zeal but it’s not based on knowledge. 2 They’re ignorant of GOD’s righteousness. They seek their own righteousness but refuse to submit to GOD”. 3

Romans 10.18-21: “Have [Israel] not heard? Yes, they have. 18 So I ask: does [Israel] not know? Moses predicted: ‘I’ll provoke you to jealousy with those who aren’t a nation. I’ll anger you using a nation of fools’. 19 Isaiah says: ‘A nation found Me who hadn’t sought Me; I appeared to those who didn’t ask to see Me’. 20 To Israel he said: ‘all day long I stretched out My hands to you, a disobedient, rebellious people’ ”. 21

Romans 11.7-8: “What of Israel? They didn’t find what they looked for. Only a remnant,  chosen by GOD, found it. The rest grew deaf to GOD’s call. 7 Scripture says: ‘GOD made their hearts & minds dull. Even today they neither see or hear’. 8 David added: ‘they deserve to be caught & killed, punished 9 & blinded. May they carry heavy burdens forever’ ”. 10

Romans 11.28a: “The Jews are GOD’s enemies because they reject the Gospel”.

Romans 15.31a: “[Paul asks]: “Prayer I am kept safe from the Judean unbelievers”.

II Corinthians 3.14-16: “Israel’s mind is closed. To this very day their minds are covered with a veil as they read the old testament. This veil is only removed if one turns to Christ. 14 Even today they read Moses’ books with a veil over their minds. 15 But this can be removed. Their own Scriptures says: ‘Moses’ veil was removed when he turned to Yah’ ”. 16

2 Corinthians 11.22: “If any boasts of their heritage I can, too. If Abraham’s descendants, so am I. 21 If Hebrews, so am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. 22 Five times I got 39 lashes from the Jews. 24 I have been in danger from my fellow-Jews”. 26

Galatians 2.4-5, 16: “Pretending to be fellow-believers some entered our group as spies to find out the freedom we have through union with Christ. They want to re-enslave us. 4 To protect the gospel-truth we resisted them, not giving in for an instant. 5 The church leaders 6 saw GOD had appointed me to preach to the Gentiles [goyim/non-Jews], just as He tasked Peter with preaching to the Jews. 7 Through GOD’s power I’m the apostle to Gentiles. 8 I work among the Gentiles as the [other apostles] work amongst Jews. 9 In Antioch Peter did wrong. 11 He ate with Gentiles till James sent men from Jerusalem, . then he stopped because he feared these former Pharisees. 12 The Jewish believers with Peter also withdrew, the cowards! Even my aide Barnabas turned coward. 13 I rebuked Peter in front of all saying: ‘you’re a Jew yet lived as a Gentile. How can you now force Gentiles to live like Jews?’ 14 Yes, we’re Jews by birth but we know a person can only be made righteous through faith in Jesus, not by works of Jewish Law. We can’t be put right through works of Law. 16 We now live by Christ 20 & refuse to reject faith or grace. If any are set right by the Law then Christ died for nothing!” 21

Galatians 3.1: “You fools! Who bewitched you? 1 Did you received GOD’s Spirit by works of the Jewish Law or by hearing the gospel & believing it? You fools!”

Galatians 3.7-10: “The real descendants of Abraham are those with faith. Scripture predicts GOD would put the Gentiles to right with Him through faith. 7 The Scriptures announced the gospel to Abraham: ‘through you GOD will bless all nations’. 8 Abraham was blessed. So are all who believe as he did. 9 Those who depend on obeying the Jewish Law are cursed”. 10

Gal. 3.18, 21b, 23-29: “If GOD’s gift depends on Jewish Law then it no longer depends on His promise. 18 If men had received a Law that could bring life then everyone could be put to right with GOD by obeying it. 21b. But the Jewish Law kept us locked up as prisoners till the faith could be revealed. 23 So the Jewish Law ruled us till Christ appeared. 24 Now that faith is here Law has no role. 25 It is only through faith that we are sons of GOD with Christ. 26 For this reason there is no difference between Jews or Gentiles for you are all united with Christ. 28 If you adhere to Christ you are all equally descendants of Abraham”. 29

Galatians 6.11-15: “those trying to force you to be circumcised [i.e. Jewish infiltrators into the church] like to boast in externals. They do it only to avoid being persecuted for being Christians. 12 These very ones who practice circumcision fail to obey the Jewish Law. They only want to boast to all that they made you submit to them. 13 I only boast in the dross. 14 It gains you nothing to be circumcised. All that matters is if you’ve become a new creation through Jesus Christ”. 15

Ephesians 1.21-23: “GOD put all things under Christ’s feet. He gave Him to the church as supreme ruler of all things. 22 The church is Christ’s physical form. It completes all things for He who is the completion of all things, everywhere”. 23
[No special place for Jews; just another ‘lost’ people].

Ephesians 4.17: “In GOD’s name I warn you: stop living like those whose thoughts are worthless, 17 with darkened minds. They have no share in GOD’s life, being completely ignorant & stubborn. 18 They’ve lost all feeling of shame & gave themselves over to every vice & are unrestrained in every indecency”. 19

Colossians 2.8: “Let no one enslave you by means of [Talmud], worthless deceit of man’s wisdom, teachings handed down by men & the ruling spirits of the universe, not from GOD”.

1 Thessalonians 2.14-16: “Brothers, you suffered the same persecution as the Church in Judea, where they suffered persecution by the Jews 14 who'd killed the Lord Jesus & the prophets. How they displease GOD! How hostile they are to all peoples! 15 They attempted to prevent me preaching the Gospel to Gentiles. In this way the Jews brought to completion all the sins they had previously committed. This has at last brought GOD’s wrath down upon them!” 16

Philippians 1.27: “Unite to fight for the faith. 27 Don’t fear your [Jewish] enemies. Be courageous. This will prove to them that they will lose & you will win, because their GOD gives the victory to you. 28 Join with me in the battle against them. This is the battle you saw me fighting in the past & the same one I am still fighting today”. 30

Philippians 3.2: “Beware of those evil-doers, the dogs, those flesh-cutters. 2 It is us not them who have the only true circumcision. We worship GOD by His Spirit in union with Christ not by means of any external ritual. 3 I could put my trust in such things, I more than anyone. 4 I was circumcised at one week old. I am an Israelite, a Hebrew. As for keeping Jewish Law I am a Pharisee. 5 & was so zealous that I persecuted the church. If anyone could be righteous by following Jewish Law then I would be faultless. I now count all this worthless compared to Christ; 7 Now, united with Christ I see their Law as soiled menstrual rags. 8 No righteousness is obtained from [Jewish] Law”. 9

II Thessalonians 1.6-8: “GOD will bring suffering 6 & relief when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven with His mighty angels 7 as a flaming fire to punish all who reject Him & don’t acknowledge the Lord Jesus. 8 He will receive glory & honour from all peoples”. 10

1Timothy 1.4: “Timothy, stay in Ephesus. There are Jews there teaching false doctrine. Order them to cease. 3 Tell they to give up those fairytales & long lists of ancestors. Who cares!? These only produce arguments. They don’t serve GOD’s plan. 3 Some believers have even been lead away by these arguments & lost their way through foolish discussions. 6 They claim to be teachers of GOD’s Law [Torah] but they don’t even understand their own words or the depth of issues they arrogantly proclaim on. 7 We alone use the Law as it should be used”. 8

1 Timothy 4.1-4: “The Spirit warns that some have abandoned their faith to obey lying spirits & to follow the teachings of demons. Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars whose consciences are dead as if burnt with a hot iron. 2 Such teach [kosher] food laws”. 3

1 Timothy 6.20-21: “Timothy, avoid profane speak & foolish arguments. 20 Such as pursue these have lost all faith”. 21

Titus 1.10b-16: “Many converts from Judaism rebel & mislead others with nonsense. 10 Shut them up! They upset whole families teaching lies & all just to make money. 11 Rebuke them severely. 13 Tell them to quit it with the Jewish fairytales [Talmud] & commandments made by men [Mishnah & Midrash]. These originate from people who have rejected all of GOD’s truths. 14 Nothing is pure to these people as they are defiled unbelievers. Their minds & consciences have been seared. 15 They claim to be GOD’s people but their every deed denies this. They are full of hate, disobedient to GOD & unfit for any good purpose”. 16

Titus 3.9-11: “Avoid stupid arguments about lengthy lists of ancestors, quarrels & fights about the Jewish Law. These laws are worthless & useless. 9 Only give two warnings to such arguers, then shun them. 10 Such people are corrupt. Their sinful deeds betray their words”. 11

Hebrews 13.9-10: “Don’t be lead astray by strange teachings which only lead you off the right path. Those who obey rules about [kosher] food laws are not helped by them. 9 The Jewish priests are unfit to eat the sacrifices off our altar [i.e. Christ]”. 10

1 Peter 1.1-2: “From the Apostle Peter to GOD’s chosen people, forced to live as refugees. 1 You were chosen by GOD the Father & made holy, you who obey Jesus Christ”. 2

I Peter 1.18: “the life handed down to you by your [Jewish] ancestors has proved worthless”.

1 Peter 2.4-10: “Jesus is the living stone rejected by the Jews as worthless but chosen by GOD. 4 Like Him you too are living stones in the spiritual temple. You are now the holy priests of GOD. 5 As it foretold in the Jewish Testament ‘I chose a valuable stone from Zion 6 He is of immense worth to those who believe but not to those who do not. He was rejected but is the most important of all’. 7 Also in the Jewish Testament it says: ‘this stone will make Zion stumble; their rejection of this Rock will bring about their downfall’. 8 You are the new chosen race, the new priests, the new people of GOD. You have been chosen to proclaim GOD’s acts. 9 It was He who chose you from out of the darkness. Before Jesus you were not GOD’s chosen people but now you are”. 10

2 Peter 2.1 & 3: “False prophets & false teachers [Jews] will deny our Master. Their destructive & untrue doctrines will bring destruction upon themselves. 1 Many will follow their immoral ways & speak evil of the Way of truth [the Church]. These false ones will tell you made-up stories [the Talmud]. For a long time their Judge has been ready – their Destroyer is wide awake! 2 These false teachers [rabbis] show no respect instead they insult. 10 These act by instinct like wild animals, fit only to be caught & killed. They abuse with insults anything they do not understand. Like wild beasts they will be destroyed. 12 They will be repaid with suffering for all the suffering they caused [the Church]. 13 They lead others into a trap, appealing to their greed. 14 Under GOD’s curse, they have left the straight path & lost their way, these lovers of money. 15 GOD has reserved for them the deepest darkness. 17 They make proud & stupid statements 18 proclaiming freedom for others while being slaves themselves to their own lusts”. 19

1 John 2.22-23: “Who are these liars? Any who say Jesus Christ is not their Messiah. 22 Any who deny Christ is not only His enemy but an enemy of His Father, too. Rejecting the Son means rejecting His Father. 23 I write this to warn you against those trying to deceive you”. 26

II John 9: “Anyone who depart from the teachings of Christ has not GOD. Whoever stays within the teachings of Christ has both the Son & the Father.”

Jude 4-16: “I write to warn you against the immoral who’ve infiltrated your group. Fight for the faith against these godless. They distort the message & reject Jesus Christ. 4 Once the Lord rescued Israel from Egypt but later destroyed the unbelievers among them. 5 Angels who would not obey are now in chains. 6 Sodom & Gomorah suffered fire as a warning to others. 7 In the same way these people sin, despising GOD’s authority. 8 They insult whatever they don’t understand. Like animals they follow their instincts. 10 For the sake of money they give themselves over to error. They rebel like Korah did [in the Old Testament] & like him they will be destroyed. 11 They care only for themselves. Trees that bear no fruit, 12 they always grumble & blame others. They follow their own desires, boast about themselves yet flatter others to get what they want. 16 They mock you 18 but do not have the Spirit [of GOD].” 19
